She’s a girl; I’m a guy,
She’s got long hair; I got short,
She has beautiful big eyes; I have small ones,
She’s white; I’m yellow,
She says her skin is rough; mine is soft,
She likes to be alone; I enjoy the crowd,
She walks with her hips; I walk standing tall,
She has a soft soothing voice; mine is loud and scratchy,
She’s a vegetarian; I love bacon,
She tells me when I’m wrong; when I say she’s right,
She’s intelligent; I’m average,
She’s a civilian; I’m a Marine,
She’s short; I’m tall,
She came from the north; I came from the south,
We met in the middle and our worlds collided,
We both been hurt,
We both have loved,
We both play games,
We both work hard,
We both have dreams,
We both have passion,
We both have visions,
We both have hope,
We both have patience,
We both have flaws,
We both have perfections,
We both have laughed,
Because we both have each other.
For the longest time I never knew what “opposites attract” really meant. I always thought it meant to find someone who was on the total opposite end and that it was our differences that draw us together. I always believed that relationships were like magnets.
And I finally found this to be true.
When magnets connect they meet in the middle. We both found what we have in common regardless of our differences. Our differences is what makes us who we are, but when we come together we become whole.
I finally found my opposite end. And oddly enough she is from the north side of the state and I’m from the south part of it.
It may work and it may not work. Who really knows. But I like to think that high hopes and a good heart is the answer to any doubt in any relationship.
I like to think that we’re the strong magnets that only exist in science classes. The ones that take a whole lot of effort to pull apart.
Maybe we’re the magnets that have scratches and chips in them, but we are still holding on strong. We aren’t perfect, but we might be perfect for each other.
I hope you find someone that will bond you together regardless of your differences.
She will always be my north and I’ll be the south 🙂
